Kesällä 2014 valmistui kissoille ulkotarha, jonne kissat pääsevät lämpiminä vuodenaikona kulkemaan vapaasti vessan ikkunan kautta. Tarhan runko on kasattu kestopuusta ja katto on valokatetta. Tarhan pohjapinta-ala on noin 2 x 2,5 metriä ja sen keskelle pystytettiin puutarharakennelmien tieltä pois kaadettu omenapuun runko kiipeilypuuksi.
In summer 2014 our cats got a new outdoor cage. The cats can reach it freely through our toilet window. The body of the cage is made of impregnated wood and it has semi-transparent plastic roof. Floor size is approximately 2 x 2,5 meters. In the middle of the floor there stands a tree trunk for climbing. It was an old apple tree which was removed to make room for new items in our garden.
Vanhoja kissojakin on ajateltu – talon seinässä on helppokulkuiset portaat. Ne rakennettiin Lilleri-muoria varten, joka ei enää viimeisenä kesänään jaksanut hyppiä, mutta sai portaiden ansiosta nauttia muiden kissojen kanssa ulkotarhasta.
Old cats were not forgotten. There are easy to climb stairs on the wall of the house. Those stairs were built for our oldest cat Lilleri (blue-white exotic female) because in her last summer she was too weak to jump. But thanks to the stairs, she also got to enjoy the outdoor air.
Nuudeli tarkkailemassa pihan tapahtumia. Ylhäällä kiertävä parvi on erityisesti kissojen mieleen. Sieltä on hyvä katsella viereisessä vuorijalavassa vierailevia lintuja ja oravia. Parvelle on teetetty markiisikankaiset patjat pikku nokosia varten.
”Nuudeli” observing the outdoor events. The upstairs loft is especially pleasing to cats. It’s an optimal monitoring station to observe birds and squirrels in the elm tree a few meters away. The loft has got custom made mattresses for a nap.
Ulkotarha tarjoaa kesällä paljon puuhaa. Tarhan luonnonkivi- ja puulaatoista tehty lattia on mukava löhöpaikka hellepäivinä, riippukeinu ja pesät puolestaan kivoja viileämmillä keleillä.
The outdoor cage provides plenty of activities in the summertime. Wooden and natural stone tiles on the floor are a nice place to land on hot days. The hammock and the nests show their comforts when it’s colder.
